Naples International Airport is one of the busiest in Italy and serves as a base for several airlines. Easyjet, Ryanair and Wizzair all use it as a focus city.

It was in 1950 that the airport first took on commercial flights but in 1995 BAA assisted with a 20-year plan to develop the airport into something more accomodating to passenger numbers.

Naples International Airport has just one terminal and handles both domestic and international flights. Not just home to commercial flight, the U.S Military have had a presence there since 1951.

Development is ongoing in Naples with a metro extension linking the airport to the central station in progress. The estimated completion of this is 2024.

Approximately 40 airlines currently fly in and out of Naples. With passenger numbers (pre covid) increasing by about 4 million in 5 years, it may not be long before more are added to the schedule.
