Milan Linate is the third airport of Milan and handles close to 10million passengers a year.

Predominantly used for short-haul International flights and a small number of domestic journeys, Linate now ferries fewer passengers than at its peak.

Originally hosting 32 slots per hour, it was, by law reduced to 22 due to its proximity to the city centre. Along with this, there could only be flights from the EU or UK.

At present 18 airlines operate to and from Milan Linate. Up until October 2021, Alitalia dominated the passenger count, but since the airline ceased trading there is more scope for the budget airlines to take over.

Development work at the airport includes a metro line that will connect the airport to the city centre. This is due to be operational from 2022.
