Alicante airport, also known as Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez Airport is one of the busiest in Spain and in 2019 set itself a new record of 15 million passengers.

It is one of the 50 busiest in Europe and sees large numbers of people arriving from The U.K, Germany and the Netherlands. The large majority of flights are International but domestic flights still make up 20% of the total passenger numbers with Madrid, Barcelona and Mallorca being the most popular.

Of the 15 million passengers from 2019, just under 6 million were from The U.K and Ryanair flew just under 5 million of the total number.
